It's Christmas

So here we go... It's that time of the year again, and of course it's 5 days until Christmas and I am not finished shopping. Christmas shopping aggravates me. I never know what to get people, and then the hubs leaves it to me to buy gifts for his family. Ugh.

What do you buy somebody that has everything? Especially if they want something they can just go out and buy it themselves? I don't know. If you have any ideas let me know.

I can think of all these wonderful gifts that I would like to get my friends and family, but.... Why does everything have to be so gosh darn expensive? Prices on everything keeps going up, so where is my pay raise to compensate? It's ridiculous really.

Oh, and who can forget the family drama? Looks like I'm going to get it from both sides this year. We have yet to tell the in-laws that we are not spending Christmas Eve night with them. I told the hubs that he can handle that one which will probably be him saying nothing, and they all call us wondering where we are. I know this may sound cruel to someone that may not know what goes on in the inside so just trust me, it's something else.

What better way to spend the holidays?

I wish that it was simple like it was when I was little. Just the four of us. At home. Going nowhere. Enjoying ourselves, toys, and good food. I get tired of the go go go. I just keep telling myself, "one of these days...".

Anyway, enough of all that.

The hubs and I took the kids up to a Christmas tree farm in Virginia a couple of weeks back. We walked through rows and rows of Christmas trees until we all found the perfect one. Everyone was excited! And Emma learned how to squat! It doesn't matter where we are that kid has to pee everywhere we go. It must be a fascination with toilets? She didn't seem too thrilled about learning to do this like I was at that age. It got the job done though!

Chopping down our own Christmas tree was always a favorite past time growing up, and I thought it would be fun to keep the tradition going with my children. What great family time! Christmas parades, tree chopping, and of course, the festival of lights at Tanglewood, what better way of getting into the Christmas spirit! I love this time of year because of the music, lights, parties, and the love. I also hate this time of the year for other personal reasons I'd rather not get into. But either way, this is supposed to be a special time with those you love, and a time to realize that there are other people out there too. Which is something that we tend to forget in our busy lives.

I would love to give a heart filled MERRY CHRISTMAS!! To everyone out there!
